The Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) Sri Lanka recently opened its newest Information Centre at Polgolla, Kandy.
This is the fourth AAT Information Centre after Hambantota, Trincomalee, and Batticaloa. Expanding the branch network is in line with the strategy that AAT Sri Lanka’s Governing Council has formulated in order to situate branches and Information Centers at strategic locations, to better cater to students’ needs. In addition to the four information centers now in operation, AAT Sri Lanka has branches in Jaffna, Kurunegala and Matara linked to its Head Office in Narahenpita, Colombo.
The Kandy centre will provide a complete range of services and products that are presently available at the AAT Centre in Colombo and will be open the whole week from 8 am to 4.30 pm. The Chief Guest at the opening ceremony AAT Sri Lanka President, Lalith T. Fernando, CEO Tishanga Kumarasinghe, Chairman, Saman Sirilal, and the Student Promotion & Brand Marketing committee of Ruwan Jayaratne and S.M. Dayaratne, Council Members and other Officials represented AAT Sri Lanka.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr Fernando said, “AAT Sri Lanka has taken several initiatives to enhance its stakeholder engagement and thereby ensure better services to its 40,000 student population.” He further said that partnership with the National Institute of Cooperative Development (NICD), commencing today, will no doubt be a distinct advantage for AAT students in the Central Province. The NICD was represented by Chairman, Lakmal Ratnayake, Director General, Sunanda Kariyapperuma and their staff members.
AAT Sri Lanka was established in December 1987, on the initiative of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, under the aegis of the Asian Development Bank, with the aim of developing middle level management in the field of Accountancy, and has been in operation for over 26 years. It offers one of the best affordable qualifications for GCE. O/L and A/L students to pursue Higher Education and become Professional Accountants in the shortest possible time.
